Content Delivery Networks (CDN's) are high-bandwidth networks distributed across the globe to help push your content to your users as quickly and efficiently as possible. CDN's work off of the principle that putting the content closer to your consumers will result in faster load times for the consumers.
A CDN will help you distribute your content faster. If you operate a website then a CDN will help you improve the load times of the files and media on your website. If you have a podcast or distribute software, then a CDN can help you handle the tremendous strain caused by having hundreds or thousands of simultaneous downloads.
We currently support Flash Live streams (FLI) and Windows Live streams (WLI).
Absolutely. We don't believe you should be limited to one or the other. Many video hosting providers don't allow business accounts, and we're not quite sure why. We believe that everyone, business or consumer, has the right to broadcast their video if they want to.
You can expect page load-times to improve significantly overall. It's impossible to tell exactly how much improvement you'll see because load times depend on several factors, including relative location of the webserver to the user loading the page, speed of the webserver, size of files, etc. If you have specific questions about this then let us know and we'll talk about it
Our network accepts nearly any file type. We can handle Flash and Windows based video streams, as well as Flash and Windows Media live video events. Static files like HTML, CSS, Javascript, and images are also commonly placed on the CDN.
SparkCDN simplifies billing tremendously. Traditional content delivery networks have contracts and minimum usage requirements. We simply bill you for what you actually use. As your usage goes up, your prices go down. We have a standard monthly service fee, current $20, but beyond that your bill is based solely on usage. See our Pricing page for the latest pricing data.
